Hampton Twirls a Gem for Den Bosch
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Den Bosch Dykes and the Camden Consigliere, pitcher Barry Hampton was the difference between victory and defeat. The Den Bosch left-hander earned accolades in the 1-0 Dykes win. Freddy Galló closed the game out for Den Bosch, earning his 13th save. With the victory, the Dykes record now stands at 35-21.
Hampton, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 3 hits over 6.2 innings for the Dykes. For the most part, Camden hitters were simply overmatched.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Hampton. "Obviously."
