The Bakersfield Bears did just enough to secure a victory over the Aurora Borealis, 4-3, at The Oaks at Aera Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Juan Guerrero. Bakersfield goes to 2-1 with the win.

The most significant at-bat for Bakersfield came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the ninth. Bears second baseman Joe Riley hit a run-scoring single to win the game.

In postgame comments, Riley said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
