Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Delaware Diamonds got the win.

The Maine Lobsters got a superb performance from pitcher Héctor Ventura, but the Delaware Diamonds still won the game, 3-2. Ventura threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Earning his 13th save of the year was Adam Marshall.

Had Xavier Palma not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Palma hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Diamonds.

Palma said his team "played with focus."

The second-place Diamonds lifted their record to 46-30.
