Matthews Lifts Seagulls to 11-5 Win
The Narragansett Seagulls defeated the Bowling Green Rebels, 11-5, at Ghoulardi Ballpark. Narragansett left fielder Spencer Matthews had a superb performance. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 9 RBI and scoring twice. Narragansett pitcher Oumee Omariba got the win, upping his record to 5-3. Mick Abbott got the loss. With the win, the Seagulls improved to 60-40.

With Narragansett leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Matthews hit a circle change from José Trevino for a grand slam home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Seagulls ahead, 7-1.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Matthews said.
