Diamonds Win Nail-Biter
|
Bowling Green center fielder Yuki Ishihara had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Ishihara went 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice, even as Delaware beat the Rebels, 6-5. Yi-lin Lu, 9-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Diamonds improve their record to 51-58 with the win over Bowling Green.
Delaware used a timely hit from Jing-xiang Huang to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Diamonds ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
In postgame remarks, Huang simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
