The Monterey Sea Lions topped the Delaware Diamonds, 5-3, in Atlantic Alliance action at Monterey Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Monterey pitcher Pedro Delgado. José Flores, now 7-4, was credited with the win. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Luis Valéncia, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 21st save.

The Sea Lions got an important contribution from center fielder Hui Ming, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a first pitch fastball into left-center for a solo home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Sea Lions ahead, 3-1.

"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Delgado.

With the victory, the Sea Lions record now stands at 51-89.
