Underground Deal Coqui 3-2 Defeat
|
London starter Andrew Bevan pitched well against the San Juan Coqui at Pearson Metropolitan Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Bevan picked up the win for London, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. Jorge Ruíz recorded his 2nd save for London.
London catcher Mike Roberts contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball into right field for a 2-run single. It was his 24th hit of the season and put the Underground ahead, 2-0.
"This is truly a great team to play with," Roberts said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
The win lifts London to a record of 22-8.
