Industrialists Snatch Late Win
|
The Hamilton Industrialists had to overcome a fine effort from Gatineau pitcher Isamu Hashimoto to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Ballonists Ballpark. Hashimoto went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Doug McKee, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. Ryoma Sasaki earned the save for Hamilton, his 1st of the year.
Late-game drama came in the top of the 15th inning. With no one out and a runner on 1st, the batter, José Cintrón, hit a double. It helped Hamilton seize the win.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Industrialists manager Robert Davis.
Hamilton goes to 17-5.
