Mothra Sting Kings, 3-1
|
The Kumamoto Mothra picked up a win at Ibaraki Grounds, courtesy of Todd Miller. The left-hander helped his team stop the Red Deer Kings, 3-1. Miller, now 2-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Mothra have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 5th win in 22 games.
Nils Wamelink had an important at-bat with two out in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season put Kumamoto on top, 3-0.
Wamelink said his team "played with determination."
