Getting a good performance from third baseman Steve Hogan, the Medicine Hat Drillers defeated the Ikari Warriors, 8-6. Hogan went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Drillers. Medicine Hat reliever Sandro Cuevas picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Kyu-cheol Na shouldered the loss. Randall Green closed the door for Medicine Hat, picking up his 7th save of the year.

Éric Flament went 1-3 with a walk for Medicine Hat. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Nobuhisa Ohayashi. It was his 9th walk of the season.

Flament told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
