Medicine Hat starter Ken Green put a stranglehold on the Laval offense. The left-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Drillers to a 5-0 win. Picking up the save was Finley Dwennon, his 2nd. The Drillers move to 19-13 with the win, while the Islanders drop to 8-24.

The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the fourth. But Ken Green made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Laval trailing 2-0, Green threw a changeup to Maup Reijnen and Reijnen struck out.
