Borealis Top Codgers, 7-2
|
The Aurora Borealis got a strong performance from pitcher Armando Batista, who stymied the Palm Springs offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Elderberry Field. Batista, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. With the loss, Palm Springs falls to 13-18.
Aurora relied on the hitting of Pedro Macías to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Borealis on top, 5-1. For the game, Macías had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Macías told the Aurora Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
