In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Drillers grabbed a win, 8-7, at Kings Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Red Deer pitcher Carlos Torres. Torres went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. Medicine Hat is now 24-17.

Medicine Hat used the timely hitting of Rob Rutledge to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drillers on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt good up there," said Rutledge. "I saw the ball well."
