The Quebec City Frenchies racked up a win at Quebec City Ballpark, bumping off the Laval Islanders, 6-3. Rich Herrera, who started for Quebec City, pitched effectively for his team. José González nailed down his 5th save. The Frenchies sit in third place in the Pacific Alliance Maple Leaf with a record of 32-21.
In the bottom of the sixth, Quebec City first baseman Roberto Madrid gave his team the lead. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Royal hit his 7th double of the year. Laval pitcher António López surrendered it. With that, the Frenchies jumped in front, 4-3.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Madrid said in reaction to the win.
