Trendsetters Fall Short at Amsterdam, 4-3
|
The Amsterdam Lions racked up a win at Stadium Urbanus, bumping off the New Orleans Trendsetters, 4-3. Jake Bain, who started for Amsterdam, pitched effectively for his team. Amsterdam reliever Manuel Canales was the winner. His record is now 2-2. Lou Long took the loss. With the win, the Lions improved to 18-15.
In the bottom of the 11th, Luis Cedeño had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring sacrifice fly to right off New Orleans pitcher Lou Long.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Cedeño said.
