Dockhands Deal Suns 5-2 Defeat
|
The Portsmouth Dockhands beat the Kingston Suns, 5-2. Portsmouth pitcher and Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, native Wayne Flowers led the way. Joe von Strantz finished to wrap up his 2nd save. The win lifts Portsmouth to a record of 5-4.
The Dockhands got a lift from designated hitter Ai-de Ong, who in the top of the sixth stroked a first pitch cutter into center for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Dockhands ahead, 3-0.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Ong.
