|
The Utrecht Scholars met little resistance from the Birmingham Bears, beating them 12-3 at Ballpark of Birmingham. Chet Smith led the way. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5 for Utrecht. The winner was Ronald O'Day, who threw 99 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits. The Scholars, now 12-5, have been sizzling early on.
