The Cheyenne Frontier had to overcome a good performance from Nampa pitcher Felipe Cintrón to claim a 3-2 win at Frontier Ballpark. Cintrón went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. José Sánchez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Dae-hee Kim got the save, the 4th for him this season.
The Moccasins had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Frontier going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old catcher Hirotada Hirano came to the plate. Hirano hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch cutter from Nampa hurler Felipe Cintrón. It was Hirano's 2nd double of the year.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Nampa manager Brian Little. "The effort was great."
With the win, Cheyenne elevates its record to 10-8.
