Chris Abbott was superb against Rapid City. The left-hander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2039 draft, had a slider that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Dockhands victory. The score was 3-0. Joe von Strantz finished the game for Portsmouth and earned his 1st save. Rapid City is now 9-9.

The Dockhands got a big at-bat from right fielder Juan Villalobos. For the game, Villalobos went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Portsmouth a 2-0 lead.
