Vintners Handle Vulcans, 2-1
|
The Middle Bass Vintners went home winners at Vintners Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Ivano Gramsci. Gramsci stifled the Nassau Vulcans, enabling Middle Bass to grab the 2-1 win. Gramsci picked up the win for Middle Bass, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Miguel Árias earned save number 9 this season.
Hyun-jung Sin made an early impact for Middle Bass when he stroked his 9th home run of the season. The solo home run, which came with two out in the bottom of the third, put the Vintners on top, 2-0.
"Tough win," said Sin. "We had to earn it."
The first-place Vintners improved to 32-10.
