Pioneers Stick Tornadoes with 6-3 Loss
|
The Drumright Tornadoes and Fort Wayne Pioneers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
No one was more impactful than Lee tai hoi Quan in the 6-3 Fort Wayne win over Drumright. Quan, who is tied for 10th in the AWL in extra base hits with 22, was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Wilbert Dugles got the win, improving to 5-3. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 5.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from first baseman Diego Martínez. For the game, Martínez went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Fort Wayne a 5-3 lead.
In comments to the Fort Wayne Daily News, Quan insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
Fort Wayne is now 27-27, Drumright 14-40.
