Suns Rally For 10-5 Win
|
Kingston and Fort Wayne took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Ghidey Rashidi, the Kingston Suns defeated the Fort Wayne Pioneers, 10-5. Rashidi went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Suns. The Suns go to 62-41, putting them second in the Amber Waves League Intercontinental.
Kingston used the clutch hitting of Gerbrand Lubbers to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Suns ahead, 6-5. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Rashidi.
