Little Smacks 5 Hits for Vulcans
|
Nassau Vulcans center fielder Tom Little had a day to remember at Ballpark of Drumright today, ripping apart the Drumright Tornadoes and sparking the Vulcans to a 7-4 victory.
Little wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Little told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Tom Little hit a solo-shot off Armando Hernández in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
For the season Little has produced 128 hits in 420 at-bats for a .305 average with 9 home runs and gotten on base at a .369 clip.
