Asano Delivers Walk-Off Win for Crooners
|
Hoboken Crooners starter John Wilkins turned in a sterling performance against the Birmingham Bears, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Jerome Montero, 5-4, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. With the win, Hoboken goes to 64-46, while the Bears fall to 51-59.
Yataro Asano was the walk-off hero for Hoboken. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Crooners center fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"I really like what we did out there today," Wilkins said after the game.
