High Fives Suffer 3-0 Setback

Washington State rode a good effort from starter Alan James to beat the Louisville High Fives at Field of the High Fives. The final score was 3-0. The save went to Bill McCants, number 4 for him. Washington State is now 5-3.
The High Fives had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Palouse Knights going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old shortstop Miguel Soto came to the plate. Soto hit a 2-run double on a 2-1 forkball from Louisville hurler William Aguilar. It was Soto's 2nd double of the year.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Washington State manager Richard Cota.
