McConaugheys Deal Chili Peppers 4-3 Setback
|
Led by Skip Paul, the Marshall McConaugheys defeated the UCLA Chili Peppers, 4-3. Paul went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the McConaugheys. John Bardwell picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 1-0. The save was credited to William O'Neil, his 1st.
Jim Briggs helped out the Marshall cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the third baseman was 1-2 with a walk.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Marshall manager Jiro Heida.
