Wicked Witches Snag 3-2 Win
|
The Central Florida Wicked Witches had to overcome a fine effort from Iowa pitcher Devin Hernández to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Central Florida Grounds. Hernández went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Tommy Daly earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. Picking up the save was Cisco García, his 1st.
Had Kenny Martin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Martin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Wicked Witches.
"The most important thing is that we won," Martin said.
Central Florida, with the win, sits at 2-9.
