Shastas Pin 3-2 Loss on Cathedrals
|
Houston Shastas starter Lance Simmons turned in a sterling performance against the Pittsburgh Cathedrals, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Fernando Pagán earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Patrick McCabe picked up the save, his 1st.
In the bottom of the seventh, Houston second baseman Tyler Rhoney hit a run-scoring single to left field. The clutch hit made it, 3-2, Shastas.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Fernando Medrano.
The Shastas go to 8-4, putting them first in the American Heartland Conference.
