Scarlet Brutes Beat Dambusters, 3-1
|
Starting pitcher Mario Barajas was a major factor in the 3-1 Ohio State Scarlet Brutes triumph over the Oregon State Dambusters. Frank Norton got credit for the save for Ohio State. It was his 2nd of the year. The Scarlet Brutes saw their win-loss record go to 7-8. At the same time, the Dambusters fell to 10-5.
The Scarlet Brutes got a big at-bat from center fielder Francisco Delvillar. For the game, Delvillar was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Ohio State a 2-0 lead.
Barajas called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
