Shastas Beat Pride, 2-1

A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Houston Shastas and Penn State Pride.
Houston Shastas starter Zane Pérez turned in a sterling performance against the Penn State Pride, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Rod Walker got the save, the 4th for him this season.
Houston relied on the hitting of Hal Young to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shastas on top, 2-1. For the game, Young had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"This was a tough loss," said Penn State manager Toshiro Shinko. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
With the win over Penn State, the Shastas improved to 12-5.
