Montlake Malamutes Fell Palouse Knights, 4-2
|
Washington Montlake Malamutes starter Lou Milton was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Washington State Palouse Knights, 4-2. Milton, now 1-1, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Lawrence Walsh was credited with the save for Washington, his 2nd of the season.
Sergio Guillén put Washington in front, 3-1, when he hit a solo home run off Joe Aldridge in the top of the sixth. It was his 1st home run of the season.
After the game, Washington manager Mason Stout applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
With the win, Washington has a record of 9-12. Washington State falls to 14-7.
