Kaisers Continue Skid, Thanks to Paul, McConaugheys
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Skip Paul, the Marshall McConaugheys defeated the St. John's Kaisers, 8-1. Paul hit 3 home runs. He drove in 7 runs and scored three times for the McConaugheys. John Gentry, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 2 and walking 0. St. John's is in the throes of a 9-game skid.

Paul had no bigger at-bat than in the bottom of the fifth when the 19-year old right fielder hit a grand slam home run. The home run gave Marshall the lead, 6-1. It was his 11th home run of the season.
