Cathedrals Ballpark was the site for United States Collegiate Baseball Association action featuring the Washington State Palouse Knights and Pittsburgh Cathedrals.

Dave Coleman was a major contributor to the 13-4 Pittsburgh win over Washington State. The Cathedrals left fielder went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. José Navarro collected save number 1.

With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Coleman hit a fastball from Luis Valentín for a run-scoring double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Cathedrals ahead, 2-0.

"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Richard Cota told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
