Axe Get 5-2 Win Versus Central Florida
The exploits of second baseman George Plummer helped the Stanford Axe defeat the Central Florida Wicked Witches, 5-2. Plummer went 2 for 4 with a home run. Orlando Pérez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Ron Gibb was tagged with the loss. Stanford raised its record to 19-11 with the win.

Stanford used the timely hitting of Fernando Ramírez to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Axe ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Ramírez said after the game.
