Díaz Leads Penn State to 7-1 Win with 3 Jacks
The Iowa Archers and Penn State Pride riveted fans at Penn State Grounds.

Penn State first baseman Fernando Díaz made his presence felt in the 7-1 Pride triumph over the Iowa Archers. Díaz belted 3 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring three times. Ricardo Zamora earned the win for Penn State. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0.

With Penn State leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Díaz hit a curveball from Andrés Cruz for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Pride ahead, 6-1.

"I thought we were prepared," Iowa manager Pete Hodges said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."

This loss makes it 6 in a row for Iowa.
