The inspired effort of Pittsburgh center fielder Russell Johnson was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-4, to the Seton Hall Rampage. Johnson was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. Barry Reynolds earned the save for Seton Hall, his 2nd of the year. The Rampage now have a mark of 17-19.

Seton Hall used a clutch hit from Gerald Jenkins to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rampage ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Jenkins expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
