Wicked Witches Snag 3-1 Win
|
The Central Florida Wicked Witches got a strong performance from pitcher Robbie Talley, who stymied the Marshall offense en route to a win, 3-1, at McConaugheys Ballpark. The winner in relief was Felipe Valentín. He is now 2-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Cisco García picked up the save, his 9th.
Central Florida used a clutch hit from Ángelo Díaz to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Wicked Witches ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Díaz.
The Wicked Witches raised their record to 17-23.
