Good production from right fielder Alan McClurkin helped the West Virginia Sherpas topple the East Carolina Sea Dawgs, 8-4. McClurkin went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He scored 3 times for the Sherpas. Wiley Richter picked up the save, his 1st. West Virginia, with the win, is 14-27.

West Virginia used a well-timed hit by Luis Santístevan to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Sherpas ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," McClurkin said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
