The Villanova Starbursts bested the Houston Shastas by a score of 7-4, with catcher Clint Kennedy getting the main credit. On the day, Kennedy went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Starbursts. Chris Owen sewed up the save, his 12th. Villanova is now 25-18. Houston is 22-21.

The Starbursts got a big hit from right fielder Mark Ottens. In the top of the sixth, Ottens pounded a 2-run double to right. His 7th double of the season put the Starbursts ahead, 5-1.

Ottens said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
