West Virginia used a superb performance from starting pitcher Coy Alford to down the Michigan Red Dawns, 4-0. Alford, the winner, moves to 2-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 1 walk. The Sherpas go to 16-29 with the win.

Billy Krieger had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for West Virginia. He came through with a 2-run single to put West Virginia in front, 4-0.

Krieger attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
