Red Dawns Saddle Klondikes with 2-1 Loss
|
Michigan Red Dawns starter John Ray pitched a strong game against the UCONN Klondikes at Klondikes Ballpark, leading the Red Dawns to victory, 2-1. Michigan reliever Luis Morales picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Dennis Douglas shouldered the loss. Will Orr was called on to finish, recording his 10th save.
Michigan used the clutch hitting of Art Kilvington to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Red Dawns ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"This was a tough loss," said UCONN manager Tomás Acevedo. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
The Red Dawns now have a mark of 23-24.
