Houston Shastas starter Andy Díaz was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the USC Travelers, 7-2. In 5.1 innings, Díaz surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Chris Donovan closed the door for Houston, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Mitchell told the Houston Chronicle: "Don't care what other people think. Wayne knows who Wayne is."
