West Virginia Sherpas starter James Huffman turned in an exceptional performance against the Minnesota Lucky Rodents at Sherpas Ballpark, resulting in a West Virginia win, 2-1. Blaine Jenkins earned save number 9 this season. The Sherpas saw their record improve to 22-30.

West Virginia took a 2-1 lead on Melvin Kennedy's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Kennedy hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Minnesota pitcher Jason McGinnis shaking his head.

"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Huffman.
