Kaisers Stick Jade Breakers with 2-0 Loss
|
St. John's Kaisers starter Doug Sheringham was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Tulane Jade Breakers, 2-0. The winning pitcher was Sheringham, now 1-2. He tossed 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Earning his 4th save of the year was Pete Wilkerson.
Tulane had a runner on 1st in the top of the eighth. With one out, José Silva came to bat, hoping to do some damage. Instead, he grounded out. The score remained 2-0, St. John's. The Jade Breakers saw their comeback bid fail.
The Kaisers' win now puts them at 22-29.
