The Houston Shastas got a strong performance from pitcher Donald Bradley, who stymied the Marshall offense en route to a win, 3-1, at McConaugheys Ballpark. Rod Walker finished the game for Houston and earned his 12th save. At 28-23, Houston is in third place in the American Heartland Conference.

Houston used the timely hitting of John Nixon to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shastas on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Nixon said.
