Cathedrals Topple Evangelists, 10-8, as Sprinkle Shines
Behind the hitting of Jeff Sprinkle, the Pittsburgh Cathedrals stopped the Notre Dame Evangelists, 10-8. Sprinkle was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Cathedrals. Pittsburgh reliever Chris Bartlett picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Kieron Corfield was saddled with the loss. Pittsburgh is 16-36 and Notre Dame, with the loss, 20-32.

Had Doug Howard not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Howard hit a 2-run single. That made the score 10-8, in favor of the Cathedrals.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Sprinkle said after the game.
