Shastas Take Down Big Daddies, 3-2
|
Shastas fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
In a low-scoring affair between the Houston Shastas and the Indiana Big Daddies, pitcher Bill Glenn was the difference between victory and defeat. The Houston left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Shastas win. Houston reliever Rod Walker picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Jeff Lucas shouldered the loss.
The Shastas relied on designated hitter Michael Hayes for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Indiana manager Parker Cochran said following the tough loss.
Houston now sits in 4th place in the American Heartland Conference at 29-24.
