Claymores Win, 1-0, at Charleston
|
Left-hander Thomas Connolly mesmerized the Charleston Statesmen while leading the Scottish Claymores to a 1-0 victory. Keiji Honda was credited with the save for Scottish, his 16th of the season. With the win, Scottish raised its record to 33-17.
Jon Woods, the 38-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Woods contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Scottish up, 1-0.
"That's baseball," said Charleston manager Luis Salars. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
