Cafe Tacvbas Pick Up 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring clash between Naucalpan and Ciudad Acuna, pitcher Santiago Benítez was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. Jesús Mireles earned the save for Naucalpan, his 1st of the year. The Mariachis fall to 4-8 and continue their wobbly start to the 2039 season.
Naucalpan relied on the hitting of Alberto Gómez to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cafe Tacvbas on top, 2-1. For the game, Gómez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Naucalpan manager Jim Jones.
