Vampiros Need Extra Frames to Get Past Mariachis
|
The Ciudad Acuna Mariachis got a sterling performance from pitcher Miguel Reyes, but the El Ray Vampiros still prevailed, 2-1. Reyes threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. El Ray pitcher Marcos Colón got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Armando Luna got the loss. The 6th-place Vampiros sport a record of 11-12.
The Vampiros procured the win, in large part because of left fielder Rafael Blanco. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.
"We all want to win," said Blanco. "We all want to do our part."
